In this study, we isolated several intestinal bacteria from tree shrew, such as Proteus spp. and E. coli. We performed the whole genomic sequencing for some typical strains, and wanted to find out the characteristics of these bacteria.

Tree shrew is a novel laboratory animal with specific characters for human disease researches in recent years. However, there is no study referred to intestinal bacteria isolated from tree shrew at present. In this study, we used different isolation methods to get several Enterobacteriaceae bacteria, such as Proteus spp. and E. coli. We used whole genomic sequencing method to analysis the characteristics of some typical strains. The purpose of this study was to find out the features of these bacteria, and the relationships with its host.
