This dataset maps the history of vegetation disturbance and recovery in China's surface coal mining areas from 1987 to 2023. Generated from Landsat-derived NDVI time-series data at 30m resolution, it identifies the timing of mining-related vegetation loss and subsequent rehabilitation.
