资源简介:
The project focuses on analyzing the composition of the urinary tract and small intestine microbiomes in patients undergoing radical cystectomy (bladder removal) and urinary diversion surgery using segments of the gastrointestinal tract. The study employs next-generation sequencing (NGS) metagenomic methods, specifically sequencing bacterial 16S rRNA gene regions, to identify bacterial taxa accurately. This advanced technology enables precise characterization of microbiome composition and the relative abundance of bacterial strains. The research compares baseline microbiomes (intestinal and bladder microbiomes before surgery) with the microbiomes of the reconstructed urinary diversions one month after surgery. This comparison aims to understand changes in the microbial communities resulting from the surgical intervention and the creation of new urinary pathways.
