OLAMUR - Case study C - DEB model prediction dataset: bioenergetic modeling of rainbow trout production in Tagalaht Bay - WP3 University of Tartu
收藏资源简介:
A rainbow trout farm adjacent to the mussel farm in Tagalaht Bay consists of seven net cages, each 38 m in diameter, housing tens of thousands of fish. Fish are introduced at 0.85 kg wet weight after being raised in a hatchery and are cultivated for six months (May-October). Feed is delivered via boats but cannot be distributed during storms (wave height >2 m), potentially affecting growth rates. Fish are fed with Blue Impact pellets (6 mm for smaller fish, 8 mm for larger fish), with nutrient emissions decreasing as fish grow due to the lower nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) content in larger pellets. Most phosphorus settles on the seabed as non-bioavailable hydroxyapatite, reducing its environmental impact. Environmental inputs (salinity, temperature, wave conditions, chlorophyll a) were sourced from the Copernicus Marine Service, with high-resolution data from models like HIROMB-BOOS and BALMFC-ERGOM. Daily averages were used in bioenergetic modeling. Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) models, parameterized with empirical datasets and calibrated in Matlab, were developed for trout. Trout models were validated against 34 datasets (MRE < 0.2). Detailed procedures and validation results are provided in Kotta et al. 2023 (DOI: 10.1111/1365-2664.14422).
