Angiotensin II induced aneurysms in male ApoE-/- mice

Transcriptional profiling of infrarenal aorta from ApoE-/- mice infused with angiotensin II or saline (Alzet mini-osmotic pumps were implanted subcutaneously for 28 days at a delivery rate of 1000 ng/kg/min). Infusion of angiotensin II induces aortic dilatation in ApoE-/- mice. The aim is to investigate the expression of differential genes in an abdominal aortic aneurysm model. Aortic aneurysm is defined as a local increase in the diameter of the aorta by >=50% compared to the same segment of the aorta in healthy individuals of the same age and gender (that is, the ratio of the observed diameter to the expected diameter is >=1.5).Overall design: 4 samples analyzed, AAA (n=2), saline (n=2).
