Daphnia magna metagenomics across generations

The model zooplankton Daphnia magna is an important system for understanding host-pathogen dynamics, population genomics, and ecotoxicology. More recently, it has become a model organism for microbiome research. In this study, we examined the impacts of restricted microbial transmission from parent to offspring across 15 generations to understand whether rare taxa impacted host fitness in stressful conditions.
