Australian Film Critic Writing Collection

This is a collection of records about the film criticism and comment by noted film critics on Australian films and documentaries. The critical writings held within Bonza are an integral part of the database as these were the difficult to get records of writing (either critical or commercial) on specific subjects. The critical writing aspect of Bonza has made it a critical point of difference to many other publicly accessible film databases who would concentrate mainly on films and actors and not the research material about these films. RMIT Cinema Studies students had to include a certain amount of reference material as well as their essay as part of their final submission for their subject. These reference records were evidence that students undertook detailed research as part of the creation of the student essays. The records in this collection focus on the written work of over 100 notable Australian film critics, both in the fields of popular cinema reviewing, and film criticism. These records include information about what the critic has written about and the viewpoint they have taken in relation to the film/documentary, person, or company, they mention in their piece. The records link to the films/documentaries, people, companies, or other references mentioned.
