Paleo-depositional Environment and of Oriented Structures Lacustrine Shale

This dataset was generated to test the hypothesis that paleo-depositional environments (e.g., salinity, redox conditions, pH, and sedimentation rate) exert hierarchical controls on the development of oriented microstructures in lacustrine shales, which in turn influence reservoir quality and energy recovery potential. The dataset comprises multi-scale and multi-proxy analyses of 98 shale samples from the Yan-Chang #7 Formation in the Ordos Basin, China. Data are organized into three main categories:Microstructural Data (from FE-SEM imaging)/Geochemical Data and Sedimentological and Environmental Data.
