San Francisco Peninsula and Mono Basin arthropods collected between 1995-08-29 and 2024-09-30 by Silicon Valley Barcode of Life

This dataset contains DNA barcodes with associated collection and taxonomy information for arthropods collected by Silicon Valley Barcode of Life collaborators on the San Francisco Peninsula and in the Mono Basin between August 29, 1995, and September 30, 2024. Most specimens in this dataset were collected following Global Malaise Program standard protocols. Malaise trapping data are stored in the Barcode of Life Data Systems (BOLD) projects GMSVB, GMSVC, GMSVD, GMSVI, and GMSVJ (San Francisco Peninsula), and GMSVA, GMSVE, GMSVF, GMSVG, GMSVH, GMCIA, GMCIB, and GMCIC (Mono Basin). Additional collection methods included pitfall traps, sweep netting, beating sheets, and hand collection. Data generated with these other methods are stored in the BOLD project MBBOL. The purpose of this dataset is to document the arthropod diversity of the San Francisco Peninsula and Mono Basin and contribute to future biodiversity research, biomonitoring, and species identification.
