资源简介:
The goal of this research is to investigate and compare the photochemical and microbial degradation of dissolved organic matter (DOM) across ponds with contrasting physiochemical characteristics using in-situ incubation techniques. Suspended particles can both scatter light and absorb dissolved organic matter, affecting both photochemical and microbial degradation of dissolved organic matter. These mechanisms were investigated across a 28 day period by adding sediment to both dark and clear sample vials. Three ponds were used as incubators to assess how light and sediment affect the photochemical and microbial degradation of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in the High Arctic.
