资源简介:
As part of the Antarctic Coastal Winds project at BAS (2021-2024), the Met Office Unified Model (MetUM) was run in various configurations over a sector of East Antarctica encompassing Prydz Bay, Mawson station and the Cape Darnley polynya. Runs were intended to test the sensitivity of near-surface winds over coastal Antarctica to uncertain aspects of atmospheric model configuration, including grid spacing and physics. These were run by Thomas Caton Harrison for the publication titled "Sensitivity of near-surface marine winds and wind stress in coastal Antarctica to regional atmospheric model configuration" available at https://doi.org/10.1002/qj.5019. Model runs were funded by NERC grant "Improved projections of winds at the crossroads between Antarctica and the Southern Ocean" (NE/V000691/1) These were run by Thomas Caton Harrison for a publication submitted to QJRMS, titled "Sensitivity of near-surface marine winds and wind stress in coastal Antarctica to regional atmospheric model configuration".
