Project Description: This study involved collecting driving data via STISIM Drive, a desktop driving simulation software. Participants experienced a series of vehicle automation failures preceded by multisensory alerts and responded by assuming manual control of the steering and/or longitudinal controls. Data Scope: Twenty-four participants’ data are available. Each participant’s data includes “playback” (.plb) files that can be replayed by the STISIM software package. Additionally, .dat files include the scripts for each scenario, as well as the driver performance measures that were collected during each “Block”. Blocks represented scenario segments where automation failures would occur. Data Specification: Please see the data specification document below.
