This repository contains the MATLAB code and data associated with the study of submarine marine terrace formation and preservation on a subsiding volcanic island (Dokdo, East Sea, Korea). The repository includes: (1) a one-dimensional wave erosion model simulating backwearing and downwearing processes under fluctuating sea levels, (2) visualization scripts for reproducing the figures in the associated publication, and (3) one year (2024) of hourly wave buoy observations offshore Dokdo, provided by the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). The model accepts any user-defined sea-level curve, but includes the Bintanja & Van De Wal (2008) sea-level reconstruction as a default input, enabling simulations of up to 3 million years of coastal morphodynamic evolution. The model is designed to be modular, allowing users to adjust parameters such as subsidence rate, wave climate, and erosional coefficients.
