The problem of the chronotope is one of the central and most interesting in contemporary literary studies. Leading Russian and international scholars are engaged in its study. The category of chronotope is the subject of the works of M.M. Bakhtin, B.A. Uspensky, Yu.M. Lotman, A.B. Esin, V.E. Khalizev, A.I. Kovtun, L.G. Babenko, T.Kh. Kerimov, U. Eco, B.K. Maitanov, Sh.R. Eleukenov, V.V. Savelyeva, and others. In their works, they reveal the role, significance, and functions of time-space in the structure of the artistic whole.
