ARGs and Microbial comuunity of anaerobic digesters in China

Since sewage sludge from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) harbors large amounts of antibiotics, antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and mobile genetic elements (MGEs), the variation and fate of these emerging pollutants during sludge treatment process must be thoroughly studied to reduce their potential risks to human health. The findings of this study provide us with effective clues to control the spreading of antibiotics resistance and with suggestions for the optimal operation of digesters.
