Data of the Integration between Catalytic Evaluation and Life Cycle Assessment for γ-Valerolactone Production from Biomass

This dataset provides supporting information for the environmental and process assessment of γ-valerolactone (GVL) production from lignocellulosic biomass in Colombia. The data include the raw experimental results of Cu–Ni/SiO₂ catalysts during the vapor-phase hydrogenation of levulinic acid (LA), the simulation backup files developed in Aspen Plus v14 for each feedstock evaluated (sugarcane bagasse, corn stover, and rice straw), and the corresponding mass and energy balances for all process stages (acid hydrolysis, LA production, GVL synthesis, and heat generation).
Additionally, the dataset contains detailed energy demand tables for hot and cold utilities of each internal process, as well as impact assessment results for the base and alternative scenarios. The alternative scenarios include the use of bio-based isopropanol and green hydrogen. The dataset also provides balances for bio-based isopropanol and solar hydrogen production systems.
