Open research data - a survey of AMU academics

Thesis/aim. Open research data have been the topic of academic discussion for several years - having gained its both strong supporters and opponents. Regarding the diversity of attitudes, the Univeristy Library in Poznań together with the proxy for open science for UAM’s Open Access have asked the UAM’s researchers to full in a survey. The aim of the study was to diagnoze the employees’ level of knowledge, skills, and needs regarding the sharing of research data. The results of the study are presented in the article. Method. The survey was selected as a research tool in the study; the questionnaire was administered online via the internal university network. Conclusions. The results of the study confirm that UAM’s researchers need open research data trainings. The hypothesis that the attitude towards open research data depends on research fields, posts or internship represented by the researchers was only partially corraborated. The strong need for the assistance in open research data indicated by the respondents in the survey sets new objectives for the University Library.
