*Source: DREES* As of 1 January 2014, the PRPS statistical database has 219,834 active doctors, including 214,594 in metropolitan France. Compared to 1 January 2013, the number of doctors increased by 0.7 % (218 296 doctors on 1 January 2013 in France and 213,227 in metropolitan France).
