Effect of genome reduction on Escherichia coli adaptability and evolvability. Escherichia coli

This research is transcriptome analysis of E. coli strains with reduced genomes (KHK collection) and the wild type W3110 were obtained from the National BioResource Project, National Institute of Genetics, Shizuoka, Japan. It is not yet understood how strains with reduced genomes will be affected when they are in environmental stress. To find out about this, we calculated growth change with some environmental stress . Next, we carried out RNA-seq for all strains and analyzed transcriptome data. The aim of the research is to establish how the environmental stress affects strains of the genome reduction and to explain by fluctuation of transcriptome.
