Annex I to the INSPIRE Directive defines this topic as follows: ‘Elements of the water network, including marine areas and all other water bodies and associated subsystems, including river basins and sub-basins. Where appropriate, as defined in Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2000 establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy (2) and in the form of networks.’ The data are derived semi-annually from the basic DLM.
