Data set on the effectiveness of project-based learning in improving knowledge and perception of the Sustainable Development Goals among students in education degrees

Data was collected from a sample of 199 students from the Early Childhood Education and Primary Education degrees at a Spanish public university. A pre- and post-test was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational intervention using Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodology on the following aspects: knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the importance students place on integrating SDGs into the various subjects of their educational curriculum, and students' perceptions of the relevance of applying SDGs in their future professional and personal lives. The results supported the effectiveness of the intervention on the knowledge dimension of the SDGs.
