资源简介:
The instrumental Successive Negative Contrast (iSNC) paradigm is widely used to study how subjects adjust their behavior in response to changes in reward conditions. This study aimed to explore the behavioral responses of rats under varying reward conditions using the iSNC, with a specific focus on addressing the challenges posed by data variability. By offering a methodological perspective on data analysis, the study seeks to advance our understanding of animal behavior and motivation within this paradigm. Twenty-four male Wistar rats were utilized, divided into three groups: a control group, an experimental group with a constant reward downshift, and a rising group with a gradual increase in reward followed by a downshift. The iSNC effect was observed as a suppression of running behavior in response to the reward downshift. Results indicated that while all groups exhibited significant changes immediately following the reward downshift, only the experimental and rising groups showed significant adaptation over time. Similarly, the rising group demonstrated a faster stabilization, whereas the experimental group exhibited a more intense but shorter-lived frustration. This study highlights the complexity of interpreting iSNC data and suggests that a combination of analytical approaches is necessary to better understand the animal behavior and motivation in response to changing reward conditions.
