Gridded Snow Depth and Snow Water Equivalent for North America, 1979 to 1997

Purpose: This project was carried out to allow evaluation of snow cover simulations from models participating in the Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project - Phase 2 (AMIP2) model comparison. The historical analysis was carried out as there were no reliable gridded snow depth (SD) or snow water equivalent (SWE) datasets available at that time for evaluating climate model output over North America.
