Glucose Glycerol fed-batch fermentation under elevated pCO2. anaerobic digester metagenome

In this work we studied the effect of elevated pCO2 and high substrate concentration on the product spectrum of mixed culture anaerobic degradation of a mixed substrate composed of glycerol and glucose. In parallel, we investigated the independent conversion of the employed substrates at elevated pCO2 and the mixture with a non-reactive headspace (nitrogen). We employed fed-batch operation regime in order to evaluate the effects of the biomass adaptation to the pressurized incubation in product formation and substrate consumption.
