Flowering time, the transition from the vegetative to reproductive phase, is a complex character controlled by day length (photoperiodism) and temperature (vernalization) conditions that impact crop yield. This study utilized a comprehensive collection of 2057 georeferenced genotypes to investigate the allelic variation of five known or putative photoperiod pathway genes. We aimed at nucleotide diversity and haplotype combinations in HvPPD-H1, HvCO1, HvFT1, HvFT2, and HvGI because we wanted to understand the trend of genetic diversity in this specific metabolic pathway.
