The EEG dataset was automatically converted to BIDS format using MATLAB. This dataset comprises 40 EEG recordings obtained from 35 stroke patients and 5 control subjects. All patient identities have been anonymized. Patients coded (01AA, 06AA, 09CU, 11DD, 12DC, 13ES, 17FY, 18HT, 22KG, 24LA, 27NK, 32SA, 34UA) are classified in the LEFT-SIDED PARALYSIS group; the control group consists of subjects coded (25MB, 26MK, 35YT, 21IS, 36YB), while the remaining subjects are RIGHT-SIDED PARALYSIS patients. Each subject was asked to perform 16 different movements. These movements include: (Right Leg Up, Right Leg Down, Right Leg Abduction, Right Leg Adduction, Left Leg Up, Left Leg Down, Left Leg Abduction, Left Leg Adduction, Right Arm Up). Subject responses to these movement commands were categorized as either "Thinking" (performing the movement "Deeply" by merely thinking about it) or "Movement" (attempting to execute the "Motor" movement). The letters D and M at the beginning of the filenames denote the "Deep" and "Motor" processes, respectively. Subjects were asked to repeat these tasks up to 6 times and were allowed 10 seconds to complete each task. The DEEP and MOTOR EEG recordings for all subjects' trials were compiled into separate EDF files, while the onset times for each movement within the EDF files are specified in the "task-motor_events.json" and "task-motor_events.tsv" files. A 10-second interval starting from the onset of the movements listed here was recorded as the EEG data for the respective movement. EEG recordings for all patients were obtained from 25 EEG channels configured according to the 10-20 standard. The EEG channel names correspond to the first 25 channels listed in the "motor_channels.tsv" files. The EEG coordinate system is provided in the "motor_coordsystem.json" file.
