Data underlying the research of Paleoclimate proxies from the lacustrine record of the Gantang section in the Yuannmou Basin, Southwest China during the Pliocene

This dataset is derived from the analysis of field profile samples collected in the Yuanmou Basin, Southwest China. The data include Rb and Sr elemental abundances measured by a Handheld XRF analyzer and Volume Susceptibility measured by a Bartington Instruments MS3 magnetic susceptibility system, and the data span the time period from 3.9 to 2.7 Ma with a resolution of about 600 years, which is intended to investigate the variability of the millennial-scale South Asian summer monsoon in the Pliocene period.
