SPIN (Group Project)

SPIN transforms the streets of the city into an informative and playful landscape for cyclists. This is made possible by an application and / or interactive wheel grips, which provide the cyclist with a haptic user interface to discuss personal performances and routes. The application version of SPIN allows people to explore the basic functions and benefits for the first time and allows them to discover the city using SPIN. SPIN users are cyclists who belong to the SPIN online community. The collected information, which is shared by the members simultaneously with other members, creates a relevant and crowd-sourced database. The handles consist of 3 sections: * A light-indicator system that increases the visibility of cyclists, * a real-time notification that informs about current traffic situations during cycling and * a game switch, which makes the cycling experience richer. The idea of the application is to help residents of the city to use the following data of the city: * Open source maps / live traffic updates / current construction work * Neighbourhood "Information" / Quality of life (see citizen survey) * Involvement of local shops (by "days" of cyclists) This forms the basis. Furthermore, the idea of a self-contained circle exists, in that the citizens are informed about their city and developments within the city and at the same time the citizens themselves are sources of information - by "tagging" areas / shops. In addition, this should improve the quality of life (through better information; Promoting cycling within the city and motivating people to exercise outdoors) and strengthening social relationships in the city (neighbourhoods). However, this is up to citizens to decide how much they want to get involved and take advantage of it.
