13 Gilbury Close, Swaythling, Southampton, Hampshire. Archaeological Evaluation (SOU1717) (OASIS ID: wessexar1-257617)

Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Radian Group - Eastleigh to carry out an archaeological evaluation on land at 13 Gilbury Close, Swaythling, Southampton, Hampshire (NGR 483834 105348). The fieldwork was carried out on the 13th of July 2016. A total of two trial trenches were excavated, a 5% sample of the proposed development area, in order to investigate the archaeological potential of the site. Trench 5 was targeted on a potential out building of a post-medieval farm complex identified through maps of the area, although no evidence for this feature was identified.
