Data for evaluation of surface mesoscale variabilities

Data for the global evaluation of surface mesoscale variabilities, including the observational EKE derived from satellite altimeter datasets and six eddy-resolving experiments. The experiments used in this reasearch including the four eddy-resolving ocean-sea-ice experiments participating in OMIP-2, including State Key Laboratory of Numerical Modeling for Atmospheric Sciences, and Geophysical Fluid Dynamics/Institute of Atmospheric Physics (LASG/IAP) Climate system Ocean Model of the Chinese Academy of Science version 3 (IAP-LICOM3), HYbrid Coordinate Ocean Model (FSU-HYCOM), Parallel Ocean Program (NCAR-POP), and Finite Element/volume Sea ice-Ocean Model (AWI-FESOM). Two additional experiments using the eddy-resolving IAP-LICOM3 forced by the ERA20C (1901-2010) and the ERA-interim (1985-2018) are also used.
