Intestinal bacterial microbial diversity of weaned lambs

This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation with Enterococcus faecalis F11.1G on the histomorphology of intestinal tissue and the composition of the intestinal microflora in weaned lambs. The weaned lambs in the experimental group were supplemented with 2 g/d of E. faecalis. Various parameters, including intestinal histomorphology, growth factor levels, and intestinal microorganism levels, were measured. The results showed that supplementation with E. faecalis increased both the height of the intestinal villi and the depth of the crypts. Additionally, it improved the composition of the intestinal microflora. These findings offer valuable insights into the potential use of E. faecalis for enhancing the health of weaned lambs.
