The Handheld Dovetail Joint Template and Saw Guide is a handheld jig device utilized to mark and/or cut pin and tail cuts forming a dovetail joint. The jig device includes a base with two angled， planar surfaces-a pin surface and a tail surface-opposite each other. A user holds the pin surface along the top edge of the pin board and marks and/or cuts the lengths of the pin portion of the dovetail joint. Next， the user places the tail surface of the base along the top edge of the tail board， aligns a retractable arm against the length of a pin cut， and marks the tail board along the angled， planar surface of the tail surface. Once all pin and tail cuts are formed in this manner， the pin and tail boards are fitted together.
