资源简介:
This series records the minutes of the Electoral College of Prince Henry's Hospital. The authority of the Electoral College was to make recommendations to the Board of Management. Those present at the inaugural meeting of the Electoral College represented, variously, the Prince Henry's Hospital Board of Management, the Honorary Medical Staff, the Melbourne University Council, the Faculty of Medicine, the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and the manager of the hospital. The minute book was used to record the College's recommendations to the Board of Management, and associated discussions. The first meeting of the Electoral College was held on 16 May 1952. The rules of the Electoral College were adopted from the rules of the Advisory Board of The Women's Hospital. Seven members present at meetings constituted a quorum. A minute book was to be kept, recording the proceedings of each meeting. This series contains the names of personnel recommended to the Board of Management for appointment to honorary medical positions. Further, the College made recommendations on the length of tenure in relation to appointments. In 1952 Prince Henry’s Hospital was affiliated with the University of Melbourne as a school for undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching. In 1962 the affiliation was transferred to Monash University. The membership of the Electoral College reflected this change from April 1962. The last meeting of the Electoral College was held on 13 December 1985.
