Automated Penguin Counting: Antarctic Peninsula (2022–2026)

This dataset contains the number of penguins detected in the field of view of eight camera traps installed at Punta Armonía and Kopaitic Island, collected between 2022 and 2026. The records are part of the monitoring network for krill-predating species under the Marine Protected Areas program of the Chilean Antarctic Institute (INACH). The data come from the customization of a YOLO11 model for the automatic detection of penguins in Antarctic environments, with the aim of estimating interannual variations and distinguishing phenological patterns.
