Delimiting a translocation between wheat chromosome arms 7BS and 4AL with second generation sequencing

The genome of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) is predicted to be greater than 16 Gbp in size and consist predominantly of repetitive elements, making the sequencing and assembly of this genome a major challenge. We have previously described reduced genome sequence complexity by isolating chromosome arm 7DS followed by sequencing and assembly (SRA025100.1). This study is applying the same technique to chromosome arm 7BS, followed by an analysis to delimit a translocation on this chromosome arm. The 7BS assembly represents approximately 49% of the chromosome arm.
