Dataset for: Avoidance of Circumcision during the Phallic Stage: Myth or Reality?
收藏资源简介:
This dataset supports the published study "Avoidance of Circumcision during the Phallic Stage: Myth or Reality?" (Yığman M, Üntan İ, Yığman F, Gül H. Archivos Españoles de Urología. 2025;78(4):385–391. doi:10.56434/j.arch.esp.urol.20257804.51). This cross-sectional study compared social and sexual outcomes in adult circumcised men, grouped by whether circumcision occurred during the phallic period (ages 3–6, per Freud's theory of psychosexual development) or outside it (non-phallic period). Participants were circumcised male volunteers recruited between December 2022 and February 2023, who completed a sociodemographic data form, the International Index of Erectile Function-5 (IIEF-5), the Male Genital Self-Image Scale (MGSIS), and the Gender Role Attitudes Scale (GRAS). The dataset is provided as a raw SPSS data file (.sav) with one row per participant. It includes sociodemographic items (age, education, place of upbringing/residence, smoking, comorbidities), circumcision details (age at circumcision, accompanying persons, ceremony, parental and personal religiosity ratings), individual item responses for IIEF-5, GRAS (20 items with subscale and total scores), and MGSIS (7 items with total score), pre-circumcision cognitions, and reasons for circumcising one's own child. Variable names and value labels are in Turkish. Some trailing columns are SPSS-generated regression diagnostics (predicted values and residuals).
