资源简介:
The paper analyzes the increasing female participation in sectors historically dominated by men, such as the justice system, the National Civil Police (PNC), and the Guatemalan Army. Despite the substantial advances since the signing of the Peace Accords in 1996, important cultural and structural obstacles persist, including gender stereotypes and violence. Women have managed to increase their presence in leadership roles, which has improved the interpretation of gender-based crimes and contributed to institutional integrity. However, in the PNC and the Army, female representation remains low. Women's organizations and international support have been important in promoting equality. Despite the progress, it is necessary to continue promoting policies and practices that ensure the full inclusion and participation of women in these sectors.
