The aim of the study was to investigate gene expression during a timecourse of flag leaf senescence . The timecourse largely focused on early (pre-visual) senescence, with only the latest timepoints (23 and 26 days) showing yellowing of the leaf. Triticum aestivum cv. Bobwhite was grown in a controlled environment room and the flag leaf was harvested at ten timepoints (3, 7, 10, 13, 15, 17, 21, 23, and 26 days post anthesis) which coincided with the period of grain development.
