Whole genome sequencing of Candida tropicalis isolates from a Malaysian tertiary medical centre

The goal of this study is to look into the genetic diversity of Malaysian Candida tropicalis isolates and to determine if there are novel mutations associated with antifungal resistance and/or enhanced biofilm-forming potential. This study would allow glimpses into the ominous world of antifungal resistance and allow scientists to comprehend mechanisms conferring drug resistance in a more holistic manner. Hopefully, the output from this study will arm medical practitioners with additional knowledge to manage patients with Candida tropicalis sepsis.
