The chemoresistive sensor response of nanoporous NiO films prepared by advanced gas deposition was investigated with and without simultaneous light irradiation, to detect nitrogen dioxide and acetone gases. The presented data show electrical responses presented as sensor resistance or relative changes in sensor resistance under selected environment conditions including UV-vis irradiation, humidity and selected target gases. The sensitivity towards nitrogen dioxide highly increased with the use of UV irradiation (275 nm) and simultaneous heating up to 150 °C. For acetone, neither reproducible nor improved responses were observed for 150 °C.
