M. gallisepticum strain R low cells grown in Hayflick’s medium were harvested, washed and treated with INA followed by UV irradiation. Cells treated with 4% paraformaldehyde (PFA) served as a negative control. The treated cells were disrupted by ultrasonic treatment [12] and ATPase and NADH2 dehydrogenase activities were determined in the cell extract as described in Materials and Methods. The results are presented as specific activities and are means ± standard deviation of three independent experiments.*Specific activity expressed as μmoles of inorganic phosphorous released per mg cell protein per 30 min.**Specific activity expressed as the decrease in absorbency at 340 nm per mg cell protein per min.The effect of INA treatment of M. gallisepticum cells on ATPase and NADH2 dehydrogenase activities.
