Longitudinal LARC Acceptors Study Senegal: Qualitative

This file contains the informed consent (English & French) and interview guide (French) for the qualitative portion of this study. Due to confidentiality concerns, transcripts are not available for sharing. This mixed-methods study investigated factors associated with long-acting, reversible contraceptive (LARC) discontinuation in the first 12 months of use in Senegal and explored how LARC users cope with side effects. Qualitative interviews were conducted with a subset of women who experienced side effects and either continued, switched, or discontinued the LARC.Qualitative interview questions obtained more detailed information about side effects experienced, thier impact on the woman's life, and reasons behind continuation, swtiching methods, or discontinuation. The study was conducted from February 2018 and April 2019 in 28 sites in four regions of Senegal: Dakar, Thiès, Kaffrine and Diourbel.
