This dataset contains two files corresponding to the publication: Charting the (un)known. The institutional financial landscape for Nature-based Solutions. [DOI to be included once published].<br>The research objective of the study is to map and clarify the existing and emerging global landscape of funding and financing approaches for Nature‑based Solutions (NbS) and to understand how these are shaped by institutional conditions; the chapter employs qualitative, systematic mapping research; data are collected through a systematic review combining academic literature and selected non‑academic sources (podcasts); the data consist of qualitative secondary data, including published studies and curated practitioner narratives that together capture financial instruments, governance arrangements, and evolving investment logics for NbS.This dataset stores the (raw) qualitative data collected for the mapping analysis. The data set structure is further explained in the manuscript.<br><strong>The first file (docx) </strong>contains the acknowledgements for the funding that supported the work and the researchers involved.<br><strong>The second file (xlxs) </strong>contains the qualitative dataset that was used for the analysis. It contains the different financial approaches and models that are cpatured from the multiple sources, their descriptions, their initial categorization (charting) on the institutional landscape, and the method of dataextraction used. stitutional mapping
