If the Chicxulub Crater and the South Pole–Aitken Basin Were Not Primarily Formed by Impact Events — A Warning of an Ongoing Structural Reconfiguration of the Earth System

The Chicxulub Crater and the lunar South Pole–Aitken Basin (SPA) are conventionally interpreted by mainstream science as products of extraterrestrial impacts. However, inconsistencies in energy calculations, chronostratigraphic evidence, and structural coherence between the Earth–Moon system and vortex dynamics all suggest explanatory gaps in the impact hypothesis. Based on a vortex dynamics framework, this paper proposes that these two giant depressions may be relics of a vortex-core/vortex-tail structure formed during angular momentum redistribution within the Earth–Moon system. This framework further identifies the splitting of the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA), subsidence of the Japan Sea, and heightened seismicity along the Pacific Ring of Fire as contemporary projections of the same ongoing vortex reconfiguration. The paper aims to issue a warning: the period around 2040 may represent a critical threshold for systemic reorganization of the Earth. We do not claim this framework has been proven; rather, we argue that reasonable doubt—based on existing evidence—is sufficient grounds for a precautionary alert. If future observations falsify this framework, it should be abandoned; until then, silence is not a rational choice.
