资源简介:
Photograph of the intersection of Broadway and Second Street, looking northwest, ca.1928-1932. At center, a wide intersection can be seen. Two lines of cars can be seen in the background at center moving towards the foreground, while another car at right appears to be turning to the right. Several people are visible crossing the intersection in front of the line of cars. In the background at left, a large, multistory structure is visible. Several additional buildings can be seen to the left of the street extending into the background. Shop entrances and awnings can be seen along the base of each building. An array of street car wires hangs above the street. The photograph features the following buildings (from left to right): C. H. Frost Building (1898-1960); Roanoke Building (formerly the Millar Block; 1886-1959); Newell & Gammon Building (1895-1956); Mason Opera House (1903-1955); Newell & Hader Block (before 1888 -1956); Yosemite Building (built in 1898 - demolished between 1947 - 1956); Hough Building (circa 1896-1956); Tajo Building (with bell-shaped dormers; 1894-1940) and Public Service Building (the tall building at top right; built in 1928).
