The Postwar Security Governance Dataset (PSGD) includes data on the governance of the security forces after civil war. Focusing on the governance of the military in each country, it includes indicators for the main dimensions of composition, oversight and accountability. This supplement describes the dataset's structure, variables, definitions, coding rules, and coding notes for each observation. It includes indicators for the composition, civilian control and oversight, and legal limits for military forces in post-civil war countries.
