Research on the relationship between gut microbiota and blood pressure (RAAS system). Homo sapiens

A large-scale health checkup was conducted in Ishikawa, Japan, for the general population. From various clinical data obtained there, such as blood pressure and salt intake, and composition ratio data of intestinal bacteria, this project analyzes the effects of intestinal bacteria on the body using various statistical methods and machine learning techniques. This time, we focused on the RAAS system, which is a blood pressure regulator, using data on plasma renin activity (PRA), plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC), and aldosterone to renin ratio (ARR), which are closely related to the RAAS system. We investigated whether and how intestinal bacteria affect the RAAS system using data on PRA (plasma renin activity), PAC (plasma aldosterone concentration), and ARR (Aldosterone to renin ratio).
