Human Values, Purpose & Meaning 2025 (Dataset, n = 507)

This dataset is part of the Human Clarity Institute’s Human–AI Experience 2025 data series.It examines how adults understand their personal values, sense of meaning, fulfilment, behavioural alignment, life direction, and emotional wellbeing, as well as how these internal experiences relate to digital environments and AI-mediated life.The dataset includes:• validated 1–7 Likert-scale items• measures of meaning, fulfilment, direction, purpose, value alignment, and self-trust• behavioural indicators of top personal values and the life areas least aligned with those values• multi-select variables stored as canonical semicolon-delimited snake_case tokens• open-text reflections with minimal safe cleaning (trim and newline removal only)• demographic variables across six English-speaking countries• digital life exposure (daily hours online) and AI-tool usage frequencyData were collected on 25 November 2025 via the Prolific platform from adults in the United Kingdom, United States, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, and Australia. Participants provided informed consent for anonymised open publication.All data were cleaned, anonymised, and processed under the Human Clarity Institute’s machine-readable dataset protocol, which includes:• canonical snake_case variable naming• validated numeric ranges• standardised multi-select formats• minimal safe text cleaning• full alignment with the accompanying data dictionary• removal of Prolific IDs and timestamps• SHA-256 checksums for all filesThis dataset contributes to understanding how people construct personal meaning, identify core values, evaluate value–life alignment, and determine what matters most in life. It supports longitudinal tracking of meaning, fulfilment, direction, emotional wellbeing, and value-driven behaviour across the Human–AI Experience 2025 series.
