MODERN METHODS OF MYOPIA CONTROL IN CHILDREN

Abstract: Myopia is one of the most common refractive disorders among children and adolescents, and its prevalence has been increasing worldwide. Early detection and effective control of myopia are essential for preserving visual function and preventing long-term ocular complications. This thesis analyzes the risk factors associated with the development of myopia in children, modern diagnostic methods, and current evidence-based approaches for slowing myopia progression. In addition, the advantages of low-dose atropine eye drops, orthokeratology lenses, multifocal contact lenses, specialized myopia-control spectacles, and lifestyle modifications are discussed.
