Both models were fit to 14 leatherback turtle tracks, 7 males and 7 females. Parameters are estimated separately for the sexes in the Separate model. Asterisked parameters, e.g., , denote the posterior predictive distributions. The Minimum Posterior Predictive Loss statistic [10], , values were 13,825 and 14,564 for the Common and Separate models, respectively.
